It’s time for recall votes for legislators who won’t do anything to help reduce mass shootings in our country. We can’t wait for elections. Well, unless we don’t care about how many hundreds will die before election day. #gun #legislation

Shame
I am ashamed to live in #Tennessee today. I have no words to express how angry I am at the players who opened the doors for this type of legislative behavior. It is one thing (still wrong) to be racist and intolerant of opposing viewpoints. It is another (fucking abhorrent) to institutionalize that behavior.
The Christopher Tree
I found out today a friend planted a tree in memory of my son shortly after he committed suicide.

She sent me a picture. It’s a fine tree. I can feel his smile.

Boundaries
Sometimes children rebel because the boundaries set before them are bullshit.
Grace
I wish to add a definition of *grace* to our lexicology. It is a collection of human behaviors bundled into one.
- kindness
- understanding
- empathy
- compassion
- acceptance
Pure of Heart
If you would classify yourself as pure of heart, you aren’t.
Tall Tales
When I was your age we had to walk 8 miles into town to the public library in order to play WoT on a Compaq 386 PC via dial-up. That was after the library upgraded to using POTS. Packet loss on tin cans was fucking brutal. #talltales

The Best Gift I’ve Ever Recieved
Many years ago I received a Beagle puppy for my birthday. I was divorced, living alone, and my sister and girlfriend conspired to decide I needed a room mate. They both taught kindergarten at the same school, and one of the teachers there had a side business breeding and selling registered 13” Beagles. This puppy became “the one” when the breeder brought a litter to the school to play with the kids. He approched my girlfriend shyly while the others engaged in pure puppy chaos. Next thing I know, she’s walking up to my door with a bundle in her arms, registration papers, water bowl, food bowl, and a bag of dog food. She held him out, and said, “his name is Charlie”. A look of horror crossed her face and she began to apologize for presuming to name my dog. I told her not to worry, that we’d see how it went. If his name was Charlie, he’d let us know. He was a Charlie. I miss him with all my heart. He was the best gift I ever received.
